Join the federation
Membership is co-ownership. Shape what gets funded, learn alongside the network, and stand in solidarity with communities reclaiming their digital lives.
Three things members get
Shape the fund
Members hold governance rights and help decide which projects the federation backs.
Shared learning
Tap into documentation, peer training and the experience of the whole network.
Infrastructure for solidarity
Members get access to a pool of shared tools, services and resources.
Membership tiers
Three levels of access. Benefits come with the level — within a level, the options only differ in how you contribute.
Community
Follow the work and join the conversation.
- Read access to documentation and newsletters
- Access to the community spaces
Full membership
Co-own the federation and shape DTF governance.
Everything in Community, plus:
- Full membership and governance rights
- Vote in the General Assembly
- Access to the basic services provided by the Federation
Funder
Fund communities' projects directly and help select them.
Everything in Full membership, plus:
- Funder rights in a designated Funding Circle, including project selection
- Online meets with the founders
- Access to services by the Federation and the Funding Circle
Ways to take part
Membership is more than a subscription. Here's how people actually contribute.
- Be in the federation
- Matrix, community calls, shared docs.
- Contribute work
- Experience-sharing, documenting, organising, facilitating.
- Mobilise the services
- Pilot the Tech project and Fund methodology.
- Fund the DTF
- Subscriptions, gifts, crowdfunding.
- Fund communities' projects
- Municipalities, foundations, crowdfunding.
In-kind contributions
Do you want to bring in your expertise and contribute with time rather than (or alongside) a financial contribution? Drop us an email to define a Contribution Agreement. We welcome Contribution Agreements that formalise in-kind support and working group participation. Get in touch to discuss what that might look like.
